Greg Cada, Master Gardener
A garden history presentation using the life of Thomas Jefferson to illustrate the horticultural influences that shaped his landscape architectural and garden projects. Features include extensive pictures of Colonial Williamsburg, Monticello, Poplar Forest and the University of Virginia. Historic garden restoration and design considerations are also included in the presentation.
Greg Cada is a member of The Ohio State University Extension's Master Gardener Program in Cuyahoga County. He is an attorney and registered professional engineer. Gardening and landscape history bring together his interests in horticulture and history.
He has visited Colonial Williamsburg, the University of Virginia and Thomas Jefferson's homes at Monticello and Poplar Forest, Washington's Mount Vernon and Madison's Montpelier on numerous occasions. He also attended the two-week Historic Landscape Institute conducted by Monticello and the University of Virginia. He has had letters published on Jefferson in National Geographic Magazineand the Colonial Williamsburg Journal.
