2016 Leaves, Recycling, and Snow Plowing
Seasons of Change!
Our City Service Department will be vacuuming piles of leaves from the tree lawns as we do every year. Leaf pick-up will be on an AS-NEEDED basis. All leaves that are collected from tree lawns will be recycled, composted and made into leaf humus or other product. It is extremely important that all leaves are piled on your tree lawn for vacuum pick-up. Please DO NOT pile leaves in the street or gutter as this is a safety hazard and these leaves may not be picked up.
PILED LEAVES MIXED WITH BRANCHES OR OTHER MATERIALS WILL NOT BE PICKED UP!
At the end of the leaf season, should you have small quantities of leaves for pick-up, please place them in paper yard waste bags or your designated yard waste container for pick-up on your regular collection day.
We appreciate your assistance in assuring a successful leaf collection program and the responsible recycling of as much or our yard waste as possible.
Winter is not too far away and you may soon be contacted by Snow Plow Contractors regarding the plowing of your driveway this winter. The City requires all commercial snow plow operators register with the City and obtain a permit. This is for your protection as we assure the vehicles are properly registered, properly insured and are equipped with the necessary emergency equipment.
While the City cannot assure the performance of your contracted operator, if they are registered with the City, you know they are aware of the City's expectations!
Please remember that it is illegal to deposit snow in the street or block public sidewalks when plowing, shoveling or snow blowing your driveway. Violators may be prosecuted.
Please be sure your Snow Plow contractor is properly registered!
