Correspondence from Mayor Cicero January 10, 2013: Civil Service Commission MINUTES: The Civil Service Commission of the City of Lyndhurst met in Regular Session on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 8:30 a.m., in the Conference Room of the Lyndhurst Municipal Center, 5301 Mayfield Road. Members Present: Commissioners: R Schmidlin, Chairman; R D Patete, R Sweeney Others Present: P T Murphy, Director of Law; C J White, Secretary; Michael Carroll, Fire Chief; Lt. Barry Sague, Police Dept. It was moved by Mr. Schmidlin, seconded by Mr. Patete that the reading of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held December 13, 2012, copies of which were mailed to each member, be dispensed with and said minutes stand approved as circulated. The question was put to a voice vote and passed unanimously. Motion carried. Discuss Eligibility Lists in the Fire Department. It was noted that the Eligibility Lists in the Fire Department are as follows:
After discussion, it was moved by Mr. Schmidlin, seconded by Ms. Sweeney that the Eligibility list for Firefighter and Chief be extended to March 10, 2013. The question was put to a voice vote and passed unanimously. Motion carried. Adopt Resolution 2012-2 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RULE IV, SECTION 6 OF THE RULES OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION AS THEY APPEAR IN CHAPTER 171 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LYNDHURST. It was moved by Mr. Schmidlin, seconded by Mr. Patete that Resolution 2012-2 be adopted. The question was put to a voice vote and passed unanimously. Motion carried, Resolution 2012-2 is adopted. Correspondence from Mayor Cicero "January 7, 2013 Civil Service Commission 5301 Mayfield Road Lyndhurst OH 44124 Commissioners: In reference to Rule IV, Section 14 of the Civil Service Commission Rules and Regulations, I am joining Chief Porrello in recommending Scott Lillash for appointment as a Special Police Officer. I have attached background information regarding Mr. Lillash. I would appreciate your processing this application as soon as possible, and advising disposition in this matter. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance. Sincerely, Joseph M. Cicero, Jr. Mayor JMC:cjw c: Chief Porrello" Mr. Schmidlin stated that all information up to this date, regarding Scott Lillash had been reviewed by the Commission. It was moved by Mr. Schmidlin, seconded by Ms. Sweeney that the next step in processing Mr. Lillash would be to schedule a psychological exam and a physical exam. Pending passage of both exams, Mr. Lillash would then be certified. The question was put to a voice vote and passed unanimously. Motion carried. It was moved by Mr. Schmidlin, seconded by Mr. Patete that the meeting be adjourned. The question was put to a voice vote and passed unanimously. Motion carried, meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m. |
