Fire hydrants located on dedicated streets in the City of Lyndhurst are owned by the City of Cleveland.
Lyndhurst pays an annual fee for the use of these hydrants. In the event that a hydrant is found to be leaking or in need of repair due to use or age, the City of Cleveland Water Department is contacted to repair the hydrant.
The Cleveland Water Department may repair the hydrant or subcontract out the repair to a private company. If a hydrant is damaged due to a motor vehicle accident or some other type of accident, the City of Lyndhurst subcontracts out the repair and seeks reimbursement from insurance.
