Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update #5
City of Lyndhurst, Ohio
From the Desk of Mayor Patrick A. Ward

Original Release: 3/24/2020

Two women bump elbows. The new novel greeting to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

Today is the "Official Day One" of the Stay at Home Order issued by Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton at the request of Governor DeWine.

We in Lyndhurst have faced challenges in the past and done, as a community, what needed to be done to help each other, our neighbors and our friends. The current crisis presents unique challenges and will temporarily force us to find different ways to be "community".

I know, with the amount of neighborly spirit displayed after the September 13th storm, that we have a very special community, residents who will look out their front window every day, will check in - even only if it is by telephone - on their neighbors and will make sure all have sufficient supplies or the ability to get them.

Many of our residents rely upon others for essential shopping tasks and those persons may not be currently available. If you have not already done so, please reach out to any neighbor who may be in need of groceries, a bit of social interaction or maybe just a kind word. If you are running an errand please consider doing so for a neighbor who cannot.

Together, we will get through this crisis.

If you know of a neighbor who may be unable to meet any essential need please contact City Hall at (440) 442-5777 ☎ so they can be referred to one of our service agencies.

Thank you and stay well!
