Regional Income Tax Agency Executes its Business Continuity Plan to Ensure Quality Service is Provided to Municipal Officials and Taxpayers
Original Release: 3/13/2020
First and foremost to the communities that have been affected by COVID-19 our thoughts are with you and your families. In response to reports issued from the Ohio Department of Health regarding increasing cases of COVID-19 and State issued orders by Governor DeWine's office, the Agency is taking every possible precaution to protect the health and safety of its employees and taxpayers while continuing to deliver high quality service.
The Regional Income Tax Agency is executing its Business Continuity Plan to ensure quality service is provided to your municipal officials and taxpayers.
Our longstanding tradition to leverage state of the art technology will allow flexible work options for designated staff to work remotely. The remote work option will significantly reduce the number of staff working in one location which is consistent with the Governor's guidelines of avoiding interaction in large groups.
For those employees that remain on-site, staff will be separated to reduce the chance of infection and the custodial staff are following cleaning protocols outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
The Agency's robust suite of e-service options will also safeguard taxpayers by allowing them to virtually interact with RITA avoiding person to person contact.
Although in person taxpayer assistance is suspended, RITA offers several secure, simple and convenient online ways to file returns, make payments, review account information, even send a message to a RITA agent through MyAccount, all available at www.ritaohio.com.
RITA's call center will remain open and available for taxpayer calls.
As updates become available from the Ohio Department of Health, the leadership team continues to meet and re-evaluate opportunities to deliver tax administration service to your municipality while maintaining the welfare of employees and the public.
We thank you for your patience during this national crisis.
