On September 1, 2017, Angel S. Kolasinski, 22, and her boyfriend, Garrett W. Brewster, 23, were indicted by a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury for Identity Fraud, Telecommunications Fraud, and Theft for stealing approximately $75,000 of the victimís life savings.

The victim was Kolasinskiís 89-year-old grandfather.

Kolasinski and Brewster had been living in the victimís home. Tips from residents concerned about the welfare of their elderly neighbor sparked investigation by the Lyndhurst Police Department with assistance by the Cuyahoga County Division of Senior and Adult Services.

As part of a plea agreement, Angel Kolasinki recently pled guilty to Theft, Aggravated Theft, and Telecommunications Fraud. She was sentenced by Judge John J. Russo to nine months in prison on each of the three convictions, to run concurrently, and ordered to pay restitution to the victim.

Garrett Brewster pled guilty to Identity Fraud, Attempted Theft, and Aggravated Theft. He was sentenced to two years in prison by Judge John J. Russo, and ordered to pay restitution to the victim.

The victimís home was also the target of drug investigators after a friend of Kolasinski and Brewster, in May, 2017, suffered a drug overdose.
