On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 1:23 p.m., PNC Bank at Mayfield and Richmond, in Lyndhurst, was robbed by a suspect who said he had a bomb. The suspect and at least one accomplice fled the scene in a stolen auto and were involved in a traffic crash on Green Road just north of Monticello, in South Euclid. One suspect was transported to the hospital from the crash scene, as was one innocent motorist, with non-life threatening injuries.

One suspect fled on foot from the crash. After a search by members of numerous law enforcement agencies, the suspect, an 18-year-old male, was found hiding in a dumpster and taken into custody.

A bomb squad was called to inspect a suspicious package located in the getaway car.
