Original Release: 5/3/2017

How To Properly Dispose Of Rechargeable Batteries Or Unusable Cell Phones - City of Lyndhurst, Ohio

The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District has announced that they will no longer be accepting Rechargeable or Unusable Cell phones with batteries.

Here are some options:
  1. You can drop off a usable cell phone that you no longer want to the Lyndhurst Community Center. These cell phones are recycled and proceeds are donated to help fund cancer research.

  2. You can drop off rechargeable batteries or non-working cell phones with batteries to your local Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/) or Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/) locations to be recycled.

  3. You can visit the website http://www.calltorecycle.org/locator to find other locations that handle battery recycling or disposal.
Please, do not put rechargeable batteries into your trash or recycling containers, as there is a serious hazard of both fire and/or employee injury.

Thank you!
