Description: Plants, like all other living things, need food for their growth and development. Plants require 16 essential elements including carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. The remaining 13 essential elements are supplied either from soil minerals and soil organic matter or by organic or inorganic fertilizers. For plants to utilize these nutrients efficiently, light, heat, and water must also be supplied. The proper amount and placement of nutrients is important for plants to grow, develop and complete their life cycle.
Mark Occhionero, a 1995 Xavier University graduate and Cleveland native, started Top Garden products in January 2011 to promote a greener and healthier alternative to chemical based nutrients. Top Garden Products specializes in organic nutrients for gardens and lawns and is located in Mentor, Ohio. Mark sells a full line of plant and garden supplies, including lighting, nutrients, soils and hydroponics supplies.
Mark loves to enter and judge plant shows. He is a Gardeners of America national judge and has won the African Violet Nationals.
