At the recent Lyndhurst Fire & Police Department Awards Ceremony held on April 29th, your Lyndhurst CERT Team was honored by the Lyndhurst Fire Department, Cuyahoga County Board of Health and the Cuyahoga County Commissioners for our role with the H1N1 Vaccination Clinic (SELPOD) held in November 2009. The Team was given the Lyndhurst Fire Chief's Commendation Award and each individual who participated in the SELPOD were recognized individually with Certificates of Appreciation. Thank you to the more than 140 volunteers who helped make this clinic a success.

As we enter into the spring season, please be cautious of the many thunderstorms which we will encounter like some we have already experienced this season. If you do not have one, we would encourage you to prepare a readiness kit in the event of a prolonged power outage or other possible catastrophe. For more information on what you can place in your kit, check out www.ready.gov for more details. You may also want to consider a weather-alert radio so that you can keep up on changing conditions. Just remember the Boy Scout motto to "Be Prepared". Let's have a safe and wonderful spring season.
