GETTING INVOLVED - Are you looking for ways to become MORE active in your community? Why not consider joining one of the many clubs or organizations calling the Community Center home. We have service clubs - Hillcrest Women's Club, Kiwanis, Lyndhurst CERT- Community Emergency Response Team, (training required) and Neighbor to Neighbor; Political clubs - Lyndhurst Democratic Club Lyndhurst Republican Club as well as our Garden Club and the SELREC Seniors a social organization.
STAY HEALTHY - We want to remind you that the Cuyahoga County Board of Health holds an Immunization Clinic most Thursdays in the Community Center. These clinics offer all the same vaccines you would get at your Doctor's office, from a newborns first immunization to flu and shingles vaccines. Nurses bring only those the vaccines required to meet the needs of that day scheduled appointments; therefore, WALK-INS CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED. To schedule an appointment call the Cuyahoga County Board of Health at 216- 201-2041.
THE AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOODMOBILES are held in the Community Center approximately every other month, on the First Thursday. The next Bloodmobile is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, from 1PM - 7 PM with others planned for December 3, February 4, and April 1, June 3, 2010. This rotation provides a safe donation cycle for those wishing to donate on a regular basis at the same location. Remember you may safely give blood every 56 days provided you are at least 17 years of age in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds. Donors should bring with them their American Red Cross donor card, a driver's license or two forms of identification. Your blood is priceless to those who need it (cancer patients, accident victims, or those awaiting surgery) and it costs you nothing other than a little bit of time - YOU can be someone's HERO every 56 days.
