Neighbor to Neighbor, a grass roots group of citizens from Lyndhurst, has been meeting regularly since 2004 to explore ways to support the needs of residents.The group was developed with 3 goals in mind:
1.) To identify specific programs and / or services that will assist residents in need.
2.) To reach out and involve our valuable students, so they may have the opportunity to contribute and learn.
3.) To promote volunteerism within our community.
Residents in our community contact us everyday for help. You may have a parent in the community, or a friend or a neighbor who is unable to do basic chores around their house. Or, you may know someone who could use extra food or supplies throughout the year. We can help with these requests and more by building upon our goals for the betterment of our community and each other.
Your reasons for volunteering are as individual as you are, but no matter what your reasons are you can get a lot out of volunteering for Neighbor to Neighbor. You will meet other interesting people in the community, help others as you help yourself, and work on some fun projects! Everyone is welcome!
Get involved by attending our monthly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 PM at the Lyndhurst Community Center. Bring a friend too!
Current Projects that we are working on are:
Project 1: Neighbor to Neighbor Youth Corp, Spring Clean-Up, and Fall Clean Up.
Project 2: Neighbor to Neighbor Food Drives, Spring, Summer and Fall Food Drives.
Project 3: Welcome New Residents to Lyndhurst- Ongoing.
