On Monday, April 28th, 2008, our members who have attended the 2008 Convention of the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs will report back to the club membership about what they have learned.
They will also display the club awards won at the Convention.
This is a very good meeting to attend if you want to know more about the Federation and its projects.

Monday, March 31st 2008: Domestic Violence Center Information.
On March 31, 2008, Tim Boehnlein, Director of Community Projects for the Domestic Violence Center, will discuss the problem of Domestic Violence and will relate how the Domestic Violence Center is helping women and their families.
The Hillcrest Women’s Club/GFWC has been a strong supporter of the Domestic Violence Center with annual donations of goods and money. For instance, the price of admission for our Annual Craft Auction is a donation of warm hats, gloves or scarves, which are then donated to the residents of the Center.
In November 2007, we delivered 143 sets of gloves, scarves and hats donated by our members and guests! We welcome all who would like to learn more about the problem and some ways to help.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 PM at the Lyndhurst Community Center. After the speaker, there will be refreshments and the club’s business meeting.

Hillcrest Women's Club / GFWC Re-Furnish a Lounge Room for the Lyndhurst Fire Department
The Hillcrest Women's Club/GFWC was delighted to be able to help re-furnish a lounge room for the Lyndhurst Fire Department.

With the help of La-Z-Boy Furniture, and Crossroads Furniture, the members of the club were able to purchase 2 lounge chairs, 2 recliners, an artificial tree and carpeting for the basement room at the firehouse.
Flooring Expo donated additional carpeting and a club member donated a "gently used" 32" TV. A new TV stand, end tables and some lamps are still needed, but the room has definitely become more useable and comfortable for our firefighters.
A small thank you for all they do to keep us all safe!
